A late fall Tudor Place wedding is not for the weary as weather becomes more and more unpredictable with each passing day. Lindsey and Michael originally planned to get married outside surrounded by the gardens of Tudor Place in the heart Georgetown, but when rain became the order of the day, they moved (almost) everything to their reception venue at Malmaison on the Georgetown waterfront. We began by improvising their Tudor Place wedding with a few quick minutes to spare in the glorious formal grounds and estate for their first look and family portraits before the sprinkles became actual raindrops.
The fantastic team at Socially Unacceptable Events moved quickly to transition their Tudor Place wedding turned into a very cool, but very different Plan B in the backdrop of the industrial chic of Malmaison where guests cheered as they proved their ability to not only go with the flow, but also focus on what really matters: celebration of commitment and joy of being surrounded by family and friends.
At the end of it all, it doesn’t really matter if it’s Plan A or Plan B — what matters is that you made it! Marriage is just the beginning, from experience I know it never goes as planned. Lindsey and Michael are off to a wonderful start already, able to keep perspective and priorities in check. And pssssst…no matter what, they’re gorgeous!
