I’m so late in getting this National Mall engagement session posted! Somehow we managed to avoid the crowds while still getting a hint of Cherry Blossoms at Constitution Gardens, slightly off the beaten path–but still oh, so pretty! If you’ve ever experienced that madness, you know The Mall any time starting in March begins what’s commonly referred to as tourist season (which unofficially ends when schools start in September, but really it’s all year long).

My timing is fitting, though, since we had to reschedule a few times thanks to this year’s whacky spring weather in Washington, D.C.  One of those times, I even made it all the way down to The Mall, stood at our meeting place, and then frantically called Whitney & TJ to tell them not to come because it was miserable: cold, windy, slightly rainy and oh, so gray!  I predicted in that phone call that when this photoshoot finally happened, it was going to be one for the books.

When our day finally arrived, glorious and abundant sunshine greeted us as we strolled from the WWII Memorial to the DC War Memorial, and then a visit to the Potomac Boat Club, where TJ is a rower. I think we can all agree that it was worth the wait.  (Plus, a very excited puppy at the end!)
