The newly reopened East Building of the National Gallery is an incredibly popular place boasting rooms full of of masterpieces by Calder, Rothko and Serra. It also has a rooftop with a giant blue rooster that looks out on Pennsylvania Avenue and the National Mall. If there is a place that more perfectly marries the iconic symbols of our nation’s capital with the elegance of iconic works of art, I have yet to find it in this city.

The National Gallery has some of the most beautiful backdrops in the city making it one of my favorite places to photograph couples, especially when an escape from either the heat of summer (or the cold of winter) is in order.

Caitlin and Tripp spent the afternoon with me looking absolutely gorgeous in the gallery (which itself is an architectural work of art), while bravely dodging tourists and photo-bombers alike. Such a D.C. vibe!
